LaCriada helps caregivers and families keep track of care — notes, medications, appointments, safety information, and more. This policy explains what information LaCriada handles and how it is protected. LaCriada is built local-first: your care information lives on your family's own computer, not on our servers.

Where your information lives

Care records you and your caregivers enter are stored on your household's own device (the “home node”), encrypted at rest. The apps talk to your home through a content-blind relay: it carries only sealed, end-to-end-encrypted messages plus minimal routing information (a household identifier and timestamps). The relay never holds your decryption keys and never sees readable care content. A breach of our servers would expose only unreadable, encrypted data.

What we handle

• Care information you enter: notes, medications, vitals, appointments, tasks, and safety details — stored on your home node.
• Voice notes. If you use voice capture, audio is recorded and transcribed on your own device. The raw audio is kept encrypted only for a period your household chooses (30 days by default, or not at all) and is then automatically deleted; the text transcript and its tamper-proof seal remain. You can also delete a note's audio at any time.
• Tamper-evidence. To prove a record hasn't been altered, LaCriada can write a cryptographic fingerprint (a one-way hash) to a public blockchain. This is a hash only — never your content, names, or care details.
• Account/household setup details needed to run the service.

Recording & consent

Voice notes record audio. Recording laws vary by location; in one-party-consent jurisdictions the person operating the device is the consenting party. LaCriada shows a clear disclosure before voice notes are used and keeps a record of that consent. You are responsible for complying with the recording and privacy laws that apply to you.

What we never do

• We never sell, rent, or trade your information.
• We never use your information for advertising, and there are no third-party ad or analytics trackers in the care apps.
• We never mine or repurpose your care content. It is yours.

Your choices & rights

• Access & export. You can view your records, and caregivers can export their own portable work history.
• Deletion (right to be forgotten). A record can be redacted — its content and any retained audio are erased — while an anonymous, tamper-proof marker that a record existed and was removed is kept, so the history stays honest.
• Retention control. Your household sets how long voice-note audio is kept, including not keeping it at all.

Health information

LaCriada is a tool to help you organize care; it is not a medical provider and does not give medical advice. Depending on how you use it, health-privacy laws may or may not apply to your relationship — LaCriada does not act as a HIPAA-covered entity by default. For medical decisions, consult a licensed professional; in an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Security

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Keys stay on your devices. The cloud tier is designed to be content-blind. No system is perfectly secure, but LaCriada's architecture is built so that the most sensitive data never leaves your home in readable form.

Children

LaCriada is intended for adults arranging or providing care and is not directed to children.
